Towie fans aren't convinced as James Argent tells Gemma Collins 'I see you as my future wife and the mother of my children'

Viewers appeared to not quite believe the reality star's words as the couple smoothed things over in tonight's episode of Towie after a rough couple of weeks for their relationship.

As the couple chatted in a club, Arg, 30, reassured 37-year-old Gemma: "Honestly from the bottom of my heart this isn't a joke to me. For me this is real, I genuinely love you and i want to be with you.

"I do see a future with you. I'm looking at you now and I do see you as my long-term partner, and my potential future wife and the mother of my children."

A shocked Gemma asked: "Like f**cking hell do you mean this?"

Arg replied: "Yes I do! But right now we're not ready to have kids until we have a period where we're stable. Do you agree?"

Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on Arg's romantic words, and revealed they didn't believe he was being entirely genuine.

One wrote: "Shows their relationship was a farce, zero passion between them..and proves this #TOWIE lot would sell their souls for fame!"

Another shared: "Anyone else is feeling like @missgemcollins and @RealJamesArgent have practice that talk a few times at the end of #towie … But then again whatever brings the money in!?! #SoFake #SadTimes"

A third commented: "And sorry I cannot take this Gemma and arg relationship seriously 1) it’s not legit they are together for towie and air time – that’s obvious 2) they are like teenagers and 3) the whole storyline is fucking boring #towie #gemmaandarg"

However, other fans took to Twitter to share their delight at the sweet ending to tonight's episode which saw the couple passionately lock lips.

One wrote: "GC & Arg are by far my favourite couple!!!! #TOWIE @missgemcollins @RealJamesArgent"

Another commented: "Arg and Gemma make me so happy #TOWIE"

A third shared: "Aww @RealJamesArgent and @missgemcollins are so cute #TOWIE"

Earlier in the show Gemma said her "love bubble" had burst when Arg fled to Spain following a furious bust-up.

She claimed she never saw her man and admitted he didn't speak to her for four days while he was abroad.

Speaking to Chloe Sims and Bobby Norris, Gemma revealed she had been doing all of Arg's washing and showering him with presents – but she's put an end to all that now.

When Chloe asked Gemma whether Arg liked the sliders she bought him, the GC said: "I took them back – GC's back on the firm."

She continued: "We had a little bit of an argument and he went to Spain and said he wasn't going to speak to me for four days.

"We was having a really bad time, I've got a boyfriend I never see – I never see him at a weekend."

The couple had been talking about having a baby together – and both Chloe and Bobby warned Gemma now might now be the right time to start a family.

Bobby said: "Why on hearth talking about kids right now."
