Comedian Tony Slattery made his first appearance on TV in 14 years as he opened up about his bipolar disorder on This Morning today.
The 59-year-old also candidly spoke about his substance abuse, admitting he snorted human faeces during his 10-grams-a-day cocaine addiction.
He revealed that he "forgot to relax" after becoming a regular on Channel 4's Whose Line Is It Anyway? and descended into a world of substance abuse.
Tony told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "The over work came first, no holidays, no taking a break and eventually you snap and try to replace it with something and in my place it was cocaine.
"I was drinking two bottles of vodka a day and doing 10 grams of coke."
At that time Tony decided to get a toxicology report on the cocaine he was snorting, which showed that the rest of it was cut glass and human faeces.
"A lot of people get into drugs because they come off after all this adrenaline," he said.
Tony also said that he had no concept of money during his coke habit.
"My mum found £160,000 cheques all scrunched up in the back of my sofa," Tony said.
He was later diagnosed with bipolar, something that allowed him to make sense of the world he lived in.
In a recent interview with the Guardian , he said that there was "no question" that the way he binged on drugs and alcohol in the 90s was more to do with the mania of his mental illness.
"Bipolarity often presents itself as something else, like a rash can present as lupus or Lyme disease,” he said.
