The Wanted announce comeback after seven years as band rally around Tom Parker after heartbreaking cancer diagnosis

THE Wanted have announced they're back together – seven years after their split.

The pop heartthrobs came together again after Tom Parker revealed he was living with terminal cancer.

Married dad-of-two Tom, Max George, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, and Siva Kaneswaran are due to delight fans with a new single they recorded in secret — a full decade on from their last chart-topping single, Glad You Came.

They revealed all at an exclusive single launch today attended by The Sun, saying they'll release their greatest hits later this month and will perform together for the first time at Tom Parker’s Stand Up To Cancer gig next week.

Tom, 33, said: "It feels amazing it is quite nice to be able to do something that is not related to treatment, it is like nothing has ever changed."

Nathan, 28, added about the single – which was written by Max: "It is really good, we are really excited.

"It was really nice doing it in the studio, Jay and Siva recorded in the US and us three recorded it over here. It is lovely being back together."

We are MEGA excited to announce that we are BACK … It's been far too long

The band released a video to coincide with the announcement on Instagram, writing: "Here we go!! We are MEGA excited to announce that we are BACK and will be releasing our Greatest Hits Album on November 12th!! We'll also be performing LIVE at the @royalalberthall as part of @tomparkerofficial 'Inside My Head' concert. It's been far too long… Let's do this! 🌍 💪"

They shot to fame in 2010 and went on to have a string of hits including Glad You Came in the UK and across the pond before taking an indefinite hiatus in 2014.

They released three studio albums with their eponymous debut album reaching number four on the UK Albums Chart.

Their two singles, All Time Low and Glad You Came both topped the UK Singles Chart.

Max went on to play Clint in the hit US series Glee, while Tom and Jay have appeared on several reality shows.

Nathan released a solo album Unfinished Business, while Siva moved to the US and married shoe designer Nareesha McCaffrey.

A source told The Sun on Sunday all five of the lads were keen to unite.

They said: “Tom’s ordeal meant everyone has wanted to rally round and celebrate what they achieved as a group and live in the moment.

“They loved their time in the band and feel now is the right time to get back together, especially as Tom’s future is uncertain.

“There will be new music and performances, plus they want to use this opportunity to raise money for cancer charities.

“They are planning to make an official announcement on Wednesday.

"Everyone is really excited to be back together and they can’t wait to recreate the magic of before.”

Tom has been busy filming a documentary, for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer appeal, in which he organises a major fundraising concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

The father of two, who revealed earlier this year his tumour had been “significantly reduced” and that he was continuing treatment, is also helping the National Brain Appeal.

After their first hit All Time Low, this could be an all-time high.
