‘The Voice’ Battle Rounds Recap: The Best Duet of the Night Earns Standing Ovation

Battle Rounds continued on “The Voice” season 15. The Tuesday, October 16 episode saw the the hopefuls facing off each others as well as Adam Levine introducing his advisor who hadn’t been introduced in Monday’s night.

First to take the stage were Kymberli Joye and duo Oneup from Team Kelly Clarkson. They were given Shawn Mendes‘ “Mercy” by Kelly and advisor Thomas Rhett. At the end, Kelly picked Kymberli, while no one stole Oneup.

Team Adam’s Anthony Arya and Steve Memmolo followed it up with a performance of “Amy” by Pure Prairie League. It was revealed that Adam’s advisor was Cee Lo Green. Of the performance, Jennifer Hudson thought that the two were great, while Blake Shelton thought Steve was the one who stepped up to the plate. Eventually, Adam moved forward with Steve Memmolo. Fortunately for Anthony, J. Hud pushed her button to steal him.

Jarred Matthew and Tyke James, also from Team Adam, later performed “She’s Always A Woman” by Billy Joel. Tykes was saved, while Jarred was sent home as no one hit their buttons to steal him.

Performing next were Chris Kroeze and Mercedes Ferreira-Dias from Team Blake. Blake chose “Back in the High Life Again” by Steve Winwood for them to sing for their battle stage. Although both were amazing, Blake was forced to chose only one of them. He picked Chris as the winner of the battle. Sadly, Mercedes was eliminated.

Team Blake’s Katrina Cain and Rachel Messer, meanwhile, were given “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan to sing. Katrina somehow stood out the most during the battle and Blake chose her as the winner. Rachel was sent home.

Next up were Mike Parker and Natasha Greycould from Team J. Hud. J. Hud chose “Gravity” by John Mayer for them because she wanted to “bring the soul out of them.” It was arguably the best duet of the night as Kelly leaped to her feet once Natasha showed off her range. After much consideration, J. Hud picked Mike. Kelly didn’t want to miss a chance, hitting her button to steal Natasha.
