Strictly’s Brendan Cole reveals his family will be living in a tent in Mallorca after quitting UK amid lockdown | The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole has revealed he will soon be sleeping in a tent with his family.

The Cole clan will up sticks to Mallorca this summer – with just the canvas roof over their head – in news exclusively revealed to The Sun.

The BBC One star, 47 – who quit the show in 2018 – told of his "adventurous" plans for a glamping experience in Spain.

It comes as the Strictly Come Dancing favourite is set to visit the location of his sun-soaked holiday home.

Speaking to The Sun at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, he explained: "We are doing a very nice refurbishment on our place in Mallorca.

"I've bought many houses over the years and I have always had the intention to refurbish them but have never gotten around to it and I have sold them and finally, we're doing a proper refurb on our house in Mallorca.

"Because we're doing the renovation we actually can't live in the house so the plan is to actually be in a glamping tent on the property which is quite nice although if it gets too hot, which I fear it might be, we may well just come back.

“We have stayed in it from time to time with the kids and, we had a moment of gin madness probably three or four months ago now when, over a couple of trips to Mallorca, we took this massive bell tent over with us."

Brendan will be sharing the experience with wife Zoe and their brood.

The pair met back in 2008 when they both attended a birthday party for mutual friend Rick Parfitt Jnr.

Two years later, model Zoe and Brendan tied the knot at a wedding ceremony in Nether Winchendon House in Buckinghamshire.

They had their first child in 2012, a daughter named Aurelia.

In 2018 they had their second child, this time a son named Dante.

Talking of their tent adventures, he continued to tell us: "Funnily enough, a couple of months ago we were going to rent a small flat and when we arrived at the hotel the day before we were getting the flat, we got a phone call saying it had been rented to somebody else for a longer time.

"So we had to get the bell tent out early and we put it up!

“We stayed in it for several weeks with the kids and it was a really lovely adventurous sort of thing to do. This was in April so we had a log burner going and we were sleeping in the same space. And we really did miss them when we came back.

“Now we are going back in a couple of weeks. But if it is too hot then we might come back…. But we have got a barbecue right outside the tent so we can cook and we have set up a solar shower."

In 2018 Brendan – who had been on Strictly since the show started in 2004 – confirmed that his contract with the BBC has not been renewed and he would no longer be a part of the TV talent series.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine he said: "It’s quite, actually, hard to talk about.

“The BBC haven’t renewed my contract. We get contracted year upon year. They’ve made an editorial decision to not have me back on the show. I’m a little bit in shock. I’m quite emotional, a bit raw about it.

“It’s done via a process of a phone call and stuff. I have had 15 incredible series on the show. I’m very proud of the whole show. It’s a great team.”

Brendan's behaviour towards Shirley Ballas was apparently the final straw for Strictly bosses, who had decided enough was enough.

The Sun Online revealed the panel forced bosses to drop the dancer following his on-air spat with the head judge.
