Steph Davies is mobbed by fans while leaving Hollyoaks set as she returns to work after rehab

The 25-year-old revealed she would be returning to the Channel 4 soap in her role as Sinead O'Connor back in May after three years away.

And it seems fans of the show are delighted to have the actress back as the clamoured round her for selfies and autographs as she headed home following a day of filming.

Steph seemed happy to oblige, taking the time to sign everything and pose for pictures, before giving the waiting paps a smile and a wave.

The star was dressed in a grey all-in-one hooded tracksuit and wore her hair up in a messy bun.

After chatting with the fans, Steph headed to her waiting car to return home to one-year-old son, Caben-Albi.

Last month, she shared the first picture of her back on set with shoulder length hair as she posed in a cream draped jacket and black jeans next to the Hollyoaks village sign.

Stephanie first took on the role of Sinead in 2010 but her contract on the Channel 4 soap was terminated in July 2015 after she arrived on set "unfit for work because of alcohol consumption".

Stephanie has been open about her battle with alcohol in recent months, and returned to rehab ahead of rejoining the soap to ensure she's in the best possible health.

She returns to Charterhouse Clinic every Tuesday in order to continue her treatment, but sometimes will spend the weekend or even a whole week there to "top up".

She told the Mirror Online:"I always come back. It's part of the after treatment, this is basically my life now.

"I have to work the programme every single day for the rest of my life but I'm fine with that because I love the programme and because it's given me a life that I never thought I'd have.
"But I have to work it."
