Rylan Clark-Neal admits future as Strictly’s It Takes Two host is hanging in the balance

RYLAN Clark-Neal has admitted he remains in the dark over whether he'll return as host of Strictly’s It Takes Two.

The 32-year-old is one of TV's most famous faces, but insists he never takes it for granted that he'll be asked back.

Instead, Rylan has to wait patiently for the call to find out if he's impressed enough for another series – or if he faces the chop.

"I have no idea [if I'm coming back]", Rylan told The Sun while launching  Soap & Glory’s new capsule podcast, GLOW & GO.

"With every single one of my jobs I don't know, one, if it's coming back, or two, if it is, if I'm coming back. You never know.

"There is a very small bit of me that likes living on the edge, thinking 'maybe I won't have anything in the diary for a month' or then I might cry wondering what will happen.

"I'm lucky enough to be in the industry that I enjoy doing the jobs I want to do.

"I'm even luckier now that I've got to a position in my career where I can choose.

"I don't have to take jobs for the sake of taking jobs, which is amazing.

"Nothing is ever guaranteed. For all I know, I might never work again. Someone could change their mind and say 'no, we don't want him on this, we're done with him now' and that could be it. If that's the case I had a lovely time.

"I would love to be able to sit here and say I'm coming back to Strictly, and yes Big Brother is coming back and I'll be working on it for 20 years, but I can't.

"It's never my choice, I'm the monkey not the organ grinder."

In 2019, Rylan started co-hosting two of his own Strictly It Takes Two shows.

The Essex boy was thought to be co-hosting alongside Zoe Ball – but they ended up splitting the presenting duties.

He was forced to self-isolate for two weeks this series after coming into contact with coronavirus.

"It was so lovely to be a part of that show for a second year," Rylan added.

"I was gutted to miss two weeks.

"Strictly was the biggest blessing for so many people over the last few months. It was some normality that was warm and fun.

"The hardest thing was not being able to give everyone a cuddle."
