Power Book II: Ghost episode seven teaser released by STARZ
Fans have been combing over the first episodes of this year’s follow-up to the thrilling Starz series, Power Book II: Ghost. With the first instalment set to finish at the start of the new year, some key hints in Tariq’s class schedule may have predicted the outcome of the season finale.
The schedule for Tariq St. Patrick’s (played by Michael Rainey Jr.) first semester at Stansfield University has given fans their biggest clues yet for the ending of Power Book II’s first season.
As the series progresses, Tariq has struggled to balance his studies with his partnership with Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige), while his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) is still behind bars.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Tariq killed Ghost (Omari Hardwick) last season and is getting closer and closer to paying the price.
After spotting the ominous titles of the classic texts the freshman is studying in his English classes, one fan is convinced the Easter egg hints towards a dark twist of fate for Tariq by the end of the season.

Not only that, but there has even been speculation of another exciting guest cameo from a fan favourite from the original series in next week’s episode.
The perceptive viewer took to Reddit with the theory after taking a screenshot of Tariq’s timetable.
Redditor GunzBlazzin then commented below: “I am blown away by this overlooked scene at the end of Power Book II, episode one.
“On the left side of the screen is the 10 week schedule for Tariq’s class, and looking back at it I’ve noticed each week matches the themes and basic plot of the 10 episode season.”
Showrunner Courtney Kemp seems to have lifted inspiration from classic literature in structuring the narrative for Power’s first follow-up.
Moreover, some of the episodes share the same or similar title to some of the novels Tariq’s class has been studying.
Although this week’s episode is titled Family First, Tariq will be studying Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man, a ground-breaking book about the harsh realities of the African American experience in the 20th Century.
Furthermore, episode nine’s The Monster is a clear reference to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which Tariq will be taking on in his ninth week of college.

Looking back on the series’ trends so far, this fan is convinced the allusions to Frankenstein are hinting towards a major guest appearance from Tariq’s past.
They added: “That being said, episode nine as Frankenstein makes me believe that a character we believe to be dead or gone will return…. maybe Tommy!”
A cameo from Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) has been tipped since the start of the season, as he’ll soon be helming his own Power spin-off, Book IV: Force.
Then again, there’s also the chance Tariq’s father Ghost (already a suggestive nickname) could be resurrected, perhaps in the form of flashback sequences.
After the holidays, Tariq is set to be studying Joseph Conrad’s novel, Heart of Darkness, which is also the name of Book II’s potentially game-changing season finale.
Later shot as the classic war film Apocalypse Now, Tariq could be about to pull a Colonel Kurtz and buckle from the trauma and pressure of the last year.
A second season has already been confirmed, and could see the young dealer abandon his responsibilities and go AWOL if these foreboding clues are to be trusted.
Power Book II: Ghost continues Sunday, December 20 on Starz and Starzplay.
