Prince Harry is being encouraged to beg Netflix bosses to pull the plug on a seedy musical production which is set to air, focusing on his mother.
The New York-based theatre production is set to land on the streaming giant next year, featuring seedy scenes of the late Princess of Wales in bed with James Hewitt.
Another scene also sees Her Majesty The Queen slam Diana, labelling her a "tart".
Diana's former close protection officer Ken Wharfe last night urged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to have "abhorrent" musical dropped, just one day after it was announced he and wife Meghan Markle had signed a historical deal with the streaming giant.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed an unprecedented multi-year agreement with the streaming giant that will earn them up to £75m, it was announced this week.
The production titled Diana: A New Musical, details the doomed relationship of Diana and her then-husband, Prince Charles.
After being previewed in New York back in March, a full Broadway show was axed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Netflix plans to record the show at a theatre before releasing it onto the service next year.
Mike Tindall says Princess Anne's 70th birthday is postponed on The One Show
The opening scene sees Camilla encouraging her now-husband to marry Princess Diana, who was more fitted to royal life.
Camilla is also said to say Diana is "remarkably pretty".
Following speculation of a romance between Diana and James Hewitt, the second act sees a shirtless Hewitt sitting on a saddle while female dancers parade around him.
The Princess and her companion begin flirting with James joking: "You'll like my horse."
One scene shows James Hewitt lying in his boxers in bed while kissing Diana who is seen putting her dress on.
While discussing Diana's infamous black midi-dress which was labelled her "revenge" dress following the breakdown of her marriage, actress Judy Kaye who plays the Queen claims she's "dressed up like a tart".
Charles 'will be relieved' at Meghan and Harry Netflix deal due to money
In a meeting discussing her intentions to divorce Prince Charles and lose her HRH status, Her Majesty abruptly tells Diana: "In the old days we would have chopped off your head."
However, following the news of Prince Harry's eye-watering deal with Netflix, his mother's bodyguard has hit out.
Ken Wharfe MVO, who served as Diana's Personal Protection Officer (PPO) from 1998 through to 1993, has lashed out at the musical, telling The Sun : "The Diana musical, soon to be premiered on Netflix, presents a huge dilemma to them both [Harry and Meghan].
"If the critics are to be believed, this musical story is not a joyous journey of love with a happy ending but an episodic account of untruths, scandal and sex."
Mr Wharfe pointed out Harry's love for his later mum, with the Prince only recently speaking of her in such moving terms.
He told the Sun this could be Harry's chance to "stand alone from his wife" and, regardless of his multi-million dollar deal with Netflix, make his opposition to the lurid musical clear and take a stand against the streaming giant.
He even suggested this could be the antidote to the Prince's waning popularity, putting him back in the good books of royal fans.
Meghan and Harry, who are no longer senior members of the royal family having stepped down from their public duties in March, are believed to be looking into producing documentaries, films and kids television shows – despite neither of them of having a background in TV production.
