Mike Tyson’s GMB ‘awkward’ interview sparks concern with viewers

Good Morning Britain viewers were left tweeting their concern on Tuesday morning after boxing legend Mike Tyson appeared on the show.

Speaking via video link from America, Mike, 54, was on the hit ITV show to promote his upcoming fight against Roy Jones Jr.

Rocking a t-shirt which read "Mike Tyson, legends only", the sporting giant appeared confused as he replied to hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

After he complained that his in ear piece was too loud, Susanna quickly interjected insisting she would keep her voice down.

During the chat, Mike kept his answers short even when the GMB hosts pushed him for more information on topics such as Black Lives Matter and his close friendship with controversial president Donald Trump.

As the interview aired across the nation, viewers quickly took to social media to express their concern.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "This one of the most awkward interviews I have ever watched.

"Mike Tyson is coming back to box and Piers Morgan is talking politics.

"Focus on the legend returning and the hype people have for the fight."

Another added: "Mike Tyson on GMB was very strange. Maybe he's just super super tired."

A third continued: "Wow, that was a very one sided interview."

"That Mike Tyson interview on GMB was just awkward," a fourth chimed in.

Meanwhile, a fifth asked: "He’s slurring, or maybe he has new teeth?"

Another questioned: "That interview with Mike Tyson was very concerning!

"Couldn't keep his eyes open, slurring his words, not really answering the questions.. rubbing his head as if he was confused…Is he fit to fight?"

Mike Tyson is set to take on Roy Jones Jr in a major comeback fight.

The showdown, which is set for November 28, will go ahead despite the ongoing social distancing rules.
