Michelle Heaton broke down in tears and apologised to Lorraine Kelly as she appeared on her ITV talkshow on Wednesday 1 September.
Former Liberty X singer Michelle, 42, bravely appeared on Lorraine on Wednesday 1 September to discuss her battles with addiction.
Michelle went to rehab earlier this year for her addiction to alcohol and cocaine and has recently celebrated 100 days sober.
And, as she appeared on Lorraine for the first time after her rehab stint on Wednesday 1 September, Michelle made a tearful apology to the show's host.
Michelle said: "I wanted to say sorry to you before we begin because there were times I drank before I sat on this sofa."
The singer began to break down in tears as 61 year old host Lorraine said: "Oh love."
Michelle continued: "And you trusted me, and I did campaigns for you and I love you so much because you've always been there to support me and I want to say I'm sorry."
Lorraine then said: "Don't be daft, you don't have to apologise to me or to anybody else. You have done…
"The easy path to have taken for you was to keep drinking. The hard thing was to say: 'No I'm not gonna do this anymore, I've got an amazing husband and family and friends'."
Lorraine continued to praise Michelle, who wiped away tears as the host told her: "And that takes real guts. You're one of the strongest women I know. We've followed you when you had all of those health problems, you had a double mastectomy, a hystorectomy all these things that you've gone through and youre still standing.
"You're still here, but it's been hard hasn't it?"
Michelle then revealed: "I was in trouble with addictions many years ago. It goes worse over lockdown. I was able to hide it because of lockdown, I suppose – manipualte it – we weren't intereacting with people.

"Ultimately it became a party for one. It became self sabotage for myself and somewhere I lost complete control and I was completely powerless to alcohol.
"I don't know when or how it happened but it's something I did and I couldn't breathe without drinking, I couldn't get out of bed."
The singer has been incredibly honest about her recovery from addiction following her stay in The Priory in April.
She has been supported by friends and family, including her husband Hugh Hanley.
Michelle has since celebrated 100 days of sobriety, which she marked with a photo of herself from the morning she went into rehab.
