BBC Breakfast hosts Naga Munchetty, and Jon Kay were on the sofa on Saturday morning delivering the day’s top headlines. After moving over to Matt Tebbutt and the Saturday Kitchen Live team, Naga fired a brutal insult which ended in Matt retaliating.
Naga and Jon had previously been speaking to Chris Smith about the Venus flytrap he has been growing over the past year.
Ending the segment, Naga said: “Eating insects is quite trendy, I mean I’ve eaten scorpion, that was kind of quite fitting, Matt Tebbutt good morning,”
Laughing at Naga’s joke, Matt replied: “Why is that fitting?” to which she replied: “Everything has a sting in its tail, doesn’t it, Matt.”
“I love the fact that Chris hasn’t bothered to take the price off with the barcode, by the way, on his plant,” Matt noticed.

Naga interrupted and said: “Are your plant pots like really clean and neat then?” to which Matt sarcastically replied: “Ur, yeah!
“Totally are, green fingers me, my wife does they’re nice to have around, shall we carry on talking about plants, shall we talk about food?” Matt suggested.
“If you want to, if you can make it more interesting, I know it’s a challenge for you but give it a go,” she poked at Matt.
“Ok, well, thanks very much, ooh, there’s that scorpion sting,” he joked with Naga laughing in the background.
Matt went on to ask: “How are your dad jokes?” but as the camera panned back to the studio, it appeared Naga and Jon weren’t paying attention.
Chocking on her drink, Naga exclaimed: “Hmm?!” which prompted Matt to say: “I love the fact that you throw to me and stop listening.”
“No, we start preparing for the next thing,” Naga explained on behalf of her and Jon, then continuing to answer Matt’s question.
“How are my dad jokes, well I’m not a dad, so maybe Jon would be able to answer that,” to which he replied: “It just goes with the territory, doesn’t it.”

Friends and colleagues Matt and Naga are known for often firing digs at one another.
Recently, Matt made a cringe-worthy joke pointed at Naga about the joys of working with her husband.
“We’re in the studio until ten o’clock when Matt Tebbutt takes over in the Saturday kitchen. Matt, what’s happening today?” Naga said, handing over to Matt.
He then asked: “Question for you, have you ever worked with your other halves?”
Naga revealed that she had previously worked with her husband, to which Matt asked: “How was that? Did it work?”
“Yes… until we didn’t,” Naga slyly answered, before Matt joked: “Until the divorce, God, I shouldn’t laugh at that sorry!
Speaking on about her husband, Naga boasted to Glamour magazine: “My husband proudly declares himself a feminist.”
“James and I don’t row, and he’s a lovely, lovely man, he’s definitely the better half,” she explained on the Her Spirit podcast.
