Lucifer cast celebrate start of season 4 filming on Netflix with cheeky jab at Fox for cancellation

Lucifer is officially back to doing the Devil’s Work, thanks to Netflix.

After the show’s surprise cancellation earlier this year, Netflix swooped in to order a fourth season as a result of a hugely passionate fan campaign, and the streamer isn’t wasting any time filming new episodes.

On Monday (August 13), Netflix’s PR Twitter account shared video from the Lucifer set announcing that Tom Ellis, Aimee Garcia (aka Ella), Rachael Harris (aka Dr Linda) and Kevin Alejandro (‘Detective Douche’) are all “back in a very white makeup trailer”.

“Look for season 4 on Netflix. It’s starting today,” the devil himself teased. “Well, we started shooting today. It’s not on Netflix today! Don’t get confused. We’re definitely here!”

The set tour even stopped by Lucifer’s nightclub Lux, where Lesley-Ann Brandt (Maze) got in a cheeky joke about drinking the soul of the Fox executive dumb enough to cancel Lucifer.

It was announced earlier this summer that writers will split their original plan for Lucifer‘s fourth season in half in order to accommodate Netflix’s smaller ten-episode run, but promised it’d “amaze” fans.

“We were going to have two parts to it anyway, so we’ll just tell a really strong, gnarly first part,” co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich recently promised.

There is also a possibility that a move to Netflix will allow for more nudity and swearing than were permitted on Fox. For a full rundown of what fans can expect for Netflix’s fourth season of the DC Comics-inspired series, please just click here.

Lucifer‘s fourth season is currently expected to premiere worldwide on Netflix next year.
