Katya Jones's husband Neil rubbished Strictly Come Dancing 'curse' days before her kiss with Seann Walsh

Katya Jones’s husband Neil rather unfortunately cast doubt on the notorious Strictly Come Dancing curse mere days before his wife was photographed kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh.

Just two days before Seann and Katya were snapped by The Sun newspaper kissing in the street on October 3, Strictly pro Neil addressed the show’s reputation for breaking up romantic relationships in an interview with Heatworld. Skip to 17.00 in the video below:

“It’s one of those things where I say, is it real?” he said of the curse. “If they wanna cheat they’re gonna cheat, no matter what. I don’t think it’s a curse. It just happens.”

He also told the magazine of Katya’s male partners: “Well, Ed [Balls] did have beautiful eyes. But I have more of a bromance with her partners. I’m normally the one saying, ‘Katya, don’t be harsh on them!'”

Neil has yet to directly comment on Seann and Katya’s kiss, although he has continued posting about Strictly Come Dancing on social media all throughout the scandal. However, his sister has defended Katya following both her and Seann’s public apologies.

Seann’s girlfriend Rebecca Humphries was far more critical of the duo, accusing the comedian of “aggressive” behaviour in an open letter dumping him.

“I have a voice and will use it by saying this to any woman out there who deep down feels worthless and trapped with a man they love: Believe in yourself and your instincts,” she tweeted.

“It’s more than lying. It’s controlling. Tell some very close friends, who if they’re anything like my wonderful network, will swoop in and take care of the logistics and of you.

“It’s important also to recognise that in these situations those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile, and their need for control comes from a place of vulnerability.

“I think it certainly does in Sean’s case. Despite everything, I hope he gets what he wants from this. I’m not sorry I took the cat though.”

Seann and Katya are still expected to continue on in the competition, and will be dancing the Charleston to ‘Bills’ by LunchMoney Lewis during this weekend’s show.

Strictly Come Dancing will return this Saturday (October 13) on BBC One, while It Takes Two airs Mondays through Fridays on BBC Two.
