Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has revealed that pop star Jesy Nelson has been "struggling for years" following her shock Little Mix exit.
The 29-year-old singer announced she'd quit the girlband on Monday, nine years after the group were crowned winners of The X Factor in 2011.
Jesy was once engaged to Coleen and Shane Richie's son Jake Roache and the TV star has opened up about the singer's decision to quit the group.
Speaking on Tuesday's edition of the ITV daytime show, Coleen, 55, said: "Obviously it's really sad. I love Little Mix. When you think of Little Mix, Jesy always comes to mind.
"I have feelings for Jesy as I have known her and I've been in a girl band."
However, the Real Full Monty star admitted that it was different for her because she was in a family band and had her sisters for support.
She added: "The pressure then was hard but it was a critic in a newspaper and a magazine, not in your face 24/7.
"I think when somebody that young goes from not being known at all to being on the biggest talent show in the word, and instantly thrusted into fame, it is so hard.
"I think from knowing Jesy in the past, she was struggling then with it all.
She concluded: "I think it's a great decision for her and I wish her all the best. It's a hard but great decision."
Jesy announced she's quit Little Mix on her Instagram page after taking extended time off from the group last month.
She penned to her 7.3million followers that she was leaving with a "heavy heart" as she reflected on the success the girlband have enjoyed over the years.
Little Mix confirmed on November 17 that Jesy would be taking an extended break from the band.
Fans of the world's biggest girl group first raised concerns for Jesy when she was missing from the latter stages of the band's BBC talent show Little Mix:The Search, both the performances and recorded interviews.
Further worries were voiced by supporters when she was also missing from the group's appearance on Children in Need, with Jade Perrie and Leigh-Anne appearing as a trio for a sketch with Dick and Dom.
Jesy's band mates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have since revealed they will continue as a trio.
