Jennifer Coolidge attempted to teach This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford how to bend and snap live on today’s show, but not to much avail.
The 57-year-old actress, who played Stifler’s mum in the iconic film American Pie, was requested by the host to teach her the iconic movement from Legally Blonde just as she ended her interview.
‘I couldn’t have you here today without asking you, could you teach me?’ Ruth asked.
‘Oh yes sure,’ Jennifer said. ‘As long as there’s not a camera behind. You know what? Who cares if anyone sees.’
Perplexed by the notion of bending and snapping, Ruth quickly explained to her husband Eamonn Holmes, 59, what it meant, telling him: ‘In the film this is how you attract a man’s attention.’
As the pair stood up to get down to business, Jennifer joked: ‘I hope I can bend.’
Jennifer then showcased the infamous move as Ruth, 59, attempted to copy, but she wasn’t impressed and remarked: ‘We didn’t even do it.’
They opted to give it another shot, however it still looked like a little bit of work needed to be done for Ruth to have it mastered.
‘It’s not quite as good as yours,’ Ruth admitted. ‘But you know, you’ve done it a lot longer than me.’
Jennifer replied: ‘It’s never really worked for me, it hasn’t gotten me somebody.’
Ariane Grande recently approached Jennifer to feature the signature step in her music video for Thank U, Next.
‘She was so great,’ Jennifer recalled on This Morning. ‘She was so gracious and that was really fun to film I have to say. It was a very unexpected phone call. That was so nice.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
