JENNIFER Aniston has revealed she still speaks to her ex-husband Brad Pitt despite him "leaving her for Angelina Jolie".
The Friends star reunited with Brad, 57, in September 2020 for a live reading of the iconic 1980s rom-com Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
The former couple played each others' love interests in the virtual script reading, as Aniston took on the role of Linda and Pitt read for Brad.
While it may have been a shock to fans to see them together, Jennifer, 52, insisted there was no awkwardness between them as they are "buddies".
Speaking on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show, she said of the reading: "It was absolutely fun. Brad and I are buddies – we're friends!
"We speak, and there's no oddness at all – except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting to be there, or assumed to be."
In September 2020, they were reunited for the live reading, which saw them take over from Phoebe Cates and Judge Reinhold's iconic roles.
Jennifer and Brad were married from 2000 to 2005 before the World War Z actor walked away from the relationship and began seeing Angelina Jolie.
There was intense media speculation about Brad's relationship with his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star right up until the papers were signed in October 2005.
Shortly after her divorce in 2005 Jennifer talked about her shock at her marriage ended.
Speaking on the Today Show she said: “Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I’ve thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I’m also doing really well.”
Jennifer said she was aware of Brad's attraction to Angelina, his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star, but didn't blame their split on her.
“It’s just complicated,” Jennifer said. “There are all these levels of growth — and when you stop growing together, that’s when the problems happen.”
When referring to Brad she added: “There’s a sensitivity chip that’s missing."
Jennifer tried to to silence speculation once and for all in 2015 by telling The Hollywood Reporter: "Nobody did anything wrong…it was just like, sometimes things [happen]."
While the two stars eventually did get together, they have always maintained their relationship was platonic until after his divorce.
The exes rekindles their friendship more recently, as Pitt attended Jennifer's 50th birthday party two years ago, and shared a touching moment at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Safely saying marriage is off the cards, Jennifer told PEOPLE earlier this year that she is not looking to walk down the aisle ever again.
"It's not on my radar," she explained. "I'm interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another.
"I'm in a really peaceful place. I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs."
Earlier this year, Jennifer praised her ex-husband Brad as a "wonderful" guest star on the Friends Reunion.
When it comes to memorable Friends' guest stars Jennifer told Access Hollywood of Brad Pitt's episode: "Mr. Pitt was wonderful."
