James Martin has looked back on his regrets as a contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? The celebrity chef told Ranvir Singh he may have been one of the speediest ever players on the long-running ITV quiz show.

The famous Yorkshireman starred alongside former Top Gear host Chris Evans in a celebrity Christmas edition of the show in 2010.

But, he was not proud of his appearance and when Ranvir said: “What I love and I think you’re like this and you love talking to people.”

James interrupted: “I think I have got the record for probably keeping the seat warm for the least amount of time on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

“I think I was on it for about 90 seconds, that was it, two questions then off. That was a nightmare.”

In his attempt to raise money for charity, he won £1,000 on the ITV quiz show which suggests he may have been a little harsh on himself.

Coincidentally, James Martin met his partner Louise Davies, who was a producer on the show, and whom he now lives with in an idyllic Hampshire village.

Ahead of her role hosting the new daytime ITV quiz show Riddiculous, Ranvir also reflected on her previous quizzing experiences.

She told the host of James Martin’s Saturday Morning: “One of the most stressful days of my entire career was going on The Chase.”

“Going on The Chase is the scariest experience I have ever had”, the Good Morning Britain presenter confessed.

Elsewhere on the weekend cookery show, Devon-based chef John Hooker joined the host to cook some hearty lamb and broad beans.

They were also joined by well-known forager Alysia Vasey who shocked the pair with her cooking habits.

While the lamb belly was removed from poaching, John highlighted the melted fat and explained: “So, look at the layers.”

Alycia added: “See I won’t tell you what I do when I have that.”

John replied: “Do you roll it?”, assuming there will be a unique method Alysia uses he may not have come across before.

He continued: “If you were doing this at home, rather than press it because it’s quite a lengthy process, you could roll it.”

An amused Alycia revealed what she does with the melted fat, admitting: “I give it to the dog.”

Trying to contain his laughter, James interrupted and exclaimed: “To the dog!”

Celebrity guest chef John joked: “I’m going home, see you later”, before pretending to leave the studio.

When he returned to his spot he added: “Give it to the dog?! You can’t give it to the dog!”

The regular guest on the show, Alycia replied: “I’m gonna change my ways.”
