Hollyoaks fans will recognise Nadira Valli star from Netflix’s Rebel Cheer Squad

Hollyoaks fans will immediately recognise Nadria Valli actress Ashling O'Shea in the Netflix series Rebel Cheer Squad.

The soap star, 24, announced that she was making her debut on the streaming service late last month (July 29) after the teen thriller series landed on Netflix.

Rebel Cheer Squad, which is a spin-off to 2020 series, Get Even, was originally released on BBC iPlayer in February and sees Ashling take on the role of student Rumi Josh.

The actress will be familiar to fans as she has spent the last five months in Hollyoaks village, and has been at the centre of drama in recent episodes ahead of her wedding to Shaq Quereshi (Omar Malik).

Things were never likely to go smoothly however, as Nadira is struggling with her upcoming nuptials along with her growing feelings for Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw).

Matchmaker Nadira arrived in Hollyoaks in March 2022 and she landed herself in a predicament when childhood friend Shaq ended up developing feelings for her and eventually convinced her to marry him.

Although she is struggling with her sexuality, Nadira throws herself into planning her wedding to Shaq, despite not truly loving him.

Celebrations begin in the village, with plans for a traditional Bollywood ceremony well underway.

Nadira's budding feelings for secret lover Juliet are too strong however, and the pair meet for a passionate encounter.

As the pair lock lips, they're in for a shock when groom-to-be Shaq turns up to invite Juliet to his fiancee’s surprise hen do.

Nadira immediately hides, but a flustered Juliet struggles to maintain composure as Shaq stands before her.

During their conversation, Juliet notices her lovers keys on the worktop and realises she has to hide them before Shaq notices and begins asking questions.

With Nadira hiding behind a kitchen cabinet, can the secret lovers find a way out without incriminating themselves?

Hollyoaks boss Lucy Allan has promised "explosive" scenes within this storyline, meaning someone is likely to be left devastated.

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
