Holby City fans fume as staff fail to wear face masks correctly during pandemic

Holby City viewers were left scratching their heads during Tuesday's edition of the BBC medical drama.

Eagled-eyed fans noticed that several members of staff working at Holby City Hopsital failed to wear face masks correctly during the coronavirus pandemic.

In one scene, Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) could be seen pushing a patient on a hospital bed around the ward.

Both Jac and the said patient wore their face coverings around their necks instead of their mouths and nose, while the paramedic wore his mask correctly.

In another scene, Nicky McKindrick (Belinda Ruth Owusu) pulled down her face mask to chat to her college, leaving fans confused.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Why aren’t they wearing there mask properly instead of holding it or underneath the chin."

A second viewer added: "Great mask wearing example."

While a third person moaned: "I love @BBCHolbyCity to bits but I wish they would wear their mask properly."

A fourth person wrote: "Advice is NOT to wear a mask round your neck."

What’s the point in social distancing if you are not going to wear your mask too," a fifth fan ranted.

"Why is no one wearing their mask properly?," a sixth person asked.

Jac's relationship with Kian took centre stage during the dramatic episode.

Kian had his feathers ruffled when Jac took more than a professional interest in a patient.

Elsewhere, a glamorous patient got excited as she was treated by "celebrity doctor" Cameron (Nic Jackson).

Since Cameron was photographed outside the hospital and branded an NHS hero by the newspapers, he’s getting quite famous and is even in demand for magazine interviews.

This made Nicky even more insecure than usual, given that Cameron is still insisting they keep their relationship under wraps.

Will they finally go public with their secret romance?

Holby City continues on BBC One on Tuesday at 7.50pm
