Here's who Karen Gillan wants to play in the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became a surprise mega hit for Sony Pictures when it arrived over Christmas, and the cast are all lining up to return for the sequel.

Karen Gillan is totally up for returning as expert dance fighter Ruby Roundhouse, but her hopes for the follow-up might not be what you expected.

“I would really be intrigued to see who is playing the game this time around, assuming that they will choose different players to get stuck in the game,” she told Digital Spy. “And then maybe we can all play completely different characters.”

When we asked her whether she would be interested in playing the avatar of a male character – in the same way Jack Black portrayed the most popular girl in school, Madison Iseman, in the previous movie – she was totally up for it.

“Yeah. A really old man would be cool.”

What do you think? Imagine Christopher Plummer – fresh from his Oscar nomination – signing on to play someone sucked into the video game world of Jumanji. Our petition starts here.

Jake Kasdan will return to direct the sequel alongside writers Matt Tolmach and William Teitler. Dwayne Johnson has confirmed his involvement in the movie, and Kevin Hart and Jack Black are also expected to reprise their roles.

Gillan can currently be seen in a little movie called Avengers: Infinity War.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 30 in the UK, and is available as a digital download now.
