If you’re one of the many cinema goers who flocked to see Avengers: Infinity War this weekend, you may have recognised a familiar face on Nidavellir.
The film, which has already broken three box office records, saw Thor (Chris Hemsworth) travel to the world with new accomplices Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Teenage Groot (Vin Diesel) to get a new hammer.
Upon the group’s arrival, Thor was surprised to see the light of Nidavellir had gone dark, which we later learned was because Thanos (Josh Brolin) had already been to the planet and killed virtually its entire population, despite his constant pledge that all populations across the universe must be halved to actually save civilisation.
Thanos’ inconsistent methodologies aside, chances are you recognised the sole survivor of Nidavellir as Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage.
The Tyrion Lannister actor was rumoured to have nabbed a role in the huge ensemble production in January this year, with the later reveal that he would play Eitri, king of the Dwarves of Nidavellir.
Nonetheless, some GoT fans were shocked to see an oversized Tyrion in an entirely different (but just as successful) franchise all the same.
