Former EastEnders star Katie Jarvis released from bail after 'racist rant'

Ex-EastEnders star Katie Jarvis was released from bail and remains under investigation after she was arrested during a drunken fight.

Essex Police arrested the 29-year-old earlier in August over reportedly being involved in a fight outside Papillon cafe in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

She was arrested on suspicion of assault as well as a racially aggravated public order after the fight.

A video, reported on by Chelmsford and Mid-Essex Times, from the brawl shows a white woman arguing with five black women, with Katie allegedly calling one of them a ‘f***ing black c***,’ as well as screaming out ‘f*** Black Lives Matter.’

One bystander filmed the incident which saw the women brawling in the drinks area outside the pub, before it was moved onto the street.

An Essex Police spokesman stated: ‘A 29-year old woman was arrested on Friday, July 31 just after 10.05pm following reports of a disturbance in Marine Parade, Southend.

‘She has been arrested on suspicion of assault and racially aggravated public order. She has been released on bail until Friday, August 21.’

The pub’s sign was pushed over and people are seen moving out the way as the group of women repeatedly strike the woman believed to be the former soap star.

The sounds of glasses smashing can be heard as another woman attempts to break the fight up, with a man then getting involved.

Towards the end of the video, a police van arrives on the street and police officers try to break up the fight.

One witness claim to hear someone shouting ‘black lives don’t matter.’

Katie played Hayley Slater between February 2018 and February 2019.
