First Winter Love Island star ‘confirmed’ as Boohoo model and ‘brainy beauty’

The first Winter Love Island star for 2023 has been confirmed – and she’s set to bring both brains and beauty to the South African villa.

Tanya Manhenga is reported to be leading this year’s cast into a winter of love, according to The Sun.

The 22-year-old is a biomedical science student and Boohoo model, already boasting more than 11,000 followers on Instagram.

Among those is 2022 villa royalty Indiyah Polack.

Tanya has also modelled for brands like PrettyLittleThing and ISawItFirst, as well as being a brand ambassador for Simmi shoes and Ego footwear.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Tanya really is the whole package, she’s a smart as she is stunning and she looks set to be one this series most popular Islanders.

“She’s an Islander in waiting, already moving in the same circles as former cast members and with brand deals already under her belt. But her followers already know she’s got a personality to match.”

The insider added that the 2023 cast is a “sassy bunch”, who will bring plenty of “banter and good chat” to the villa.

Posing for PrettyLittleThing in Marbella last year, Tanya could be seen sporting a skimpy leopard-print bikini on a hotel balcony bordered with glass.

The stunner let her dark hair fall in loose curls down her back, showing off her toned tummy and thighs, accessorising with a stunning silver cross necklace.

In another snap, Tanya could be seen turning around to gaze off over the horizon, showing off her peachy bum as she raised both arms over her head.

She cheekily captioned the sun-drenched post: “Just satisfying your cravings.”

It comes as security measures at the new villa have been ‘ramped up’ after bosses became concerned for contestants’ safety.

Show executives have reportedly hired a security team to patrol the Ludas Magnus villa in South Africa due to a surge of crime in the area.

A source said: “The aim is to make Ludus as secure as possible, without terrifying the contestants.

"We want them to feel relaxed and feel comfortable during the show."

Added measures include night vision CCTV, alarm beams and trained security guards on all perimeters.
