Emmerdale's Belle Dingle does a disappearing act after her mental health relapse

Emmerdale airs heartbreaking scenes for Belle Dingle next week as her mental state continues to deteriorate.

Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), who takes medication for schizophrenia, has been hearing voices again since her mum Lisa made a shock departure from the village last week.

Although Belle’s boyfriend Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson) is already worried about her, it’s not until next week that he realises just how serious the situation is.

As Belle grows increasingly distracted by the voices in her head, she panics when they tell her to destroy the alcohol that’s being brewed for her and Lachlan’s new business.

Belle goes berserk in the barn and Lachlan is horrified when he discovers that his troubled girlfriend has been hearing voices again.

Later on, Lachlan and his friend Gerry Roberts (Shaun Thomas) both launch a frantic search for Belle after she goes missing.

Will they be able to find Belle and make sure she gets the help she needs? Could this be what brings Lisa back to the village?

Emmerdale fans recently saw Lisa decide that she needed some time away from her family after suffering an angina attack.

Lisa realised that arguments with Zak and the rest of the Dingles were putting her health at risk, so she left without telling anyone when she’d be back.

Jane Cox, who plays Lisa, recently explained: “Lisa decided to leave because of her health condition. She knew that if she stayed for any longer, it wasn’t going to be good for her. Being around Zak is not good for her health.

“Lisa has not been able to do anything to resolve the situation with Liv and she’s very upset that Liv has been sent down. But the fallout of that is Zak has been vile to Lisa and not supported her at all. Aaron’s had a go at her too, so everyone’s against her.

“That’s what made Lisa have the angina attack. The doctor told her that she had to calm down to get away from the stress, because it wasn’t doing any good for her at all.”

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Friday, May 4 at 7pm on ITV.
