Emmerdale star quits after a year on soap and has already filmed their final scenes | The Sun

EMMERDALE has lost another star after actor Darcy Gray has quit the soap.

The actor joined the ITV show as Marcus Dean last year, but has now decided to bow out, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

A source revealed: "Marcus's time in the village came to a natural end.

"Darcy is keen to spread his wings but the door has been left open."

The actor has already filmed his final scenes and will be seen leaving the village this month.

Introduced as murdering rapist Pierce Harris' long-lost son, Marcus' arrival in the village was tense.

But Rhona Goskirk, Pierce's victim and ex-wife, convinced him to stay after realising he was nothing like his evil dad.

He soon fell for Ethan Anderson and up until recently the pair were blissfully happy.

However the couple were plunged into crisis recently when Ethan's boss Greg sexually harassed Marcus.

Threatening Ethan's career, Marcus and Ethan's sister Naomi hatched a plan to put a stop to Greg's behaviour but it backfired and saw Marcus arrested for assault.

Ethan was forced to make a deal with Greg to save Marcus from a prison sentence, but it meant his boss got away with his vile behaviour.

Struggling to accept what had happened, Ethan walked out on Marcus and they split, but there was hope they would reunite.

Darcy's final scenes as Marcus will play out later this month.
