Charley Webb has played a part in helping an unemployed Twitter user land a new job.
Charley, most known for playing Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, helped a warehouse worker who lost their managerial position during the current Coronavirus pandemic. She was among three others who assisted the person after they retweeted his plea for help.
The social media user took to Twitter and said:
‘Lost my job today. I’ve been in warehousing all my working life. 19 years managerial experience with a track record for coaching, training and mentoring people to gain a first-time promotion. I’m not willing to just be an operative as I just want to work. Any RT appreciated.’
Charley was quick to retweet the message to her 432,000 followers, saying ‘I hope someone reads this that can help.’
The Twitter user has since shared the news that they had now secured a new job.
They said: ‘Can I please say an extra special thanks to @MissCharleyWebb @JimfromOldham @MichaelStarke57 and @Toolyboy for retweeting my post last week and giving me added exposure to my job search. I accepted a job offer this morning and it came about through Twitter. Thank you all so much.’
Charley took no time in replying and said ‘this makes Twitter worth it.’
Charley’s fans also commented, congratulating the social media user for securing the job and commenting on how Charley’s help played a huge part in the user getting back into work.
