Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan reveals his relationship with Strictly’s Dianne Buswell was ‘taxing’ as he confirms he is back on the market

The Sun revealed last week how they were the latest couple to be hit by the infamous Strictly “curse” after he grew suspicious over her bond with dance partner Joe Sugg.

Anthony admitted there were cracks in the relationship for sometime due to the long distance between Manchester and London eventually resulting in their split earlier this month.

In an exclusive chat, he told the Sun: “Over the ten months in which we were dating, it was very up and down. Just being in a long distance. We still remain amicable.

“It's just the long distance thing was quite taxing for us both. But we are still good friends, you know. And like I said these things happen day to day.

“The fact of the matter is relationships don't always work. It is taxing when you've got a distance between each other. When we were together we had a great time.”

Aussie Dianne, 29, and Anthony, 34, who plays Pete Barton on the ITV soap, ended their ten-month romance following a series of rows.

The Sun had previously reported of the couple’s break ups before they called time on things for good.

Anthony grew suspicious as Dianne spent days training with 27-year-old Joe, with whom she also had several evenings out.

But the Mancunian denied there was a Strictly curse but refused to rule out any jealousy towards the YouTuber.

Asked about that, he said: “Take from it what you will. People are always going to speculate. That's certainly out of my hands. There's nothing I can do about that.

“All I can do is crack on and do what I do. But I wish them both all the best. They're doing absolutely amazing on the show.

“I actually saw the show last night (Sunday) and yeah the dance was incredible. So yeah I am still rooting for the guys. All the best to them.”

Their split came days after contestant Seann Walsh was seen kissing married Strictly pro Katya Jones.

Anthony said: “That was obviously a shock to people. And maybe that's why it's been blown out of proportion, so to speak.

“But that's out of my control. There's nothing I can do about that.

He added: “I'm on the market, so let's see what happens.

“If someone comes along, if I meet someone, I meet someone.”
