One of the most famous documentaries in the history of classic rock is Dont Look Back starring Bob Dylan. While the movie is well-remembered, Dylan…
The shame marriage between Max Branning and Rainie Cross is set to get "very messy" in the coming weeks.
EastEnders viewers discovered tonight that the mismatched couple were faking their relationship so Max could get custody of baby Abi.
Max’s big scheme is to pay Tanya’s sister to pretend to be his wife as part of a "business deal" to stop Cora Cross getting hold of her.
However, actor Jake Wood has revealed it’s going to get "complicated" between the pair as cracks form in their relationship.
He also teased a possible reunion with Stacey Fowler, admitting that Max still loves her but is putting his feelings to one side.
On tensions between Max and Rainie, Jake said: "Of course, those are two very complicated characters. I think the beauty of what the writers have done, putting those characters together, is that we’ll see how it plays out over the next couple of months, and how they’re going to come to an arrangement with this.
"Rainie is very vulnerable, she has a very complicated history, especially with her history of drugs. She’s currently clean, and is hoping to stay that way.
"But as we’ll see, they’ve both got their own needs for pursuing this goal and Rainie’s are financial yes, but it’s going to get complicated, they’re great characters and it’s a bit of a heady mix – it’s very exciting."
The car lot owner is going up against his former mother-in-law, Cora Cross, who has also applied for custody of her great granddaughter.
On what lengths Max will go to, Jake said: "Max, as we know, is very single-minded isn’t he, when he sets his mind on a goal he’s very determined in what he does.
"He really wants to get baby Abi 100%, and as we see he’s prepared to marry Rainie as part of that, so yes Max is capable of anything he’s very determined, so yes I think he is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants."
There could be a spanner in the works in the form on Stacey, who Jake believes Max is still in love with.
The soap star said: "Well, as we saw at Christmas, he declared his love for her, I think those feelings are still there, I think they’ll always be there. They’ve got a real history, Max and Stacey and I think deep down he loves her but obviously he’s had to put all those feelings to one side because of Martin.
"Ultimately he wants her to be happy, so for now all those feelings are put to one side but I’m sure they will resurface again at some point."
Max and Rainie, who are living in Maximum Motors, will have to pull together to achieve their goals.
Jake added: "This is a new direction for Max in some ways, with this new story and determination. It’s very complicated and it’s been really exciting to film, especially the relationship between Max and Rainie.
"It’s going to get very, very messy over the next few months and the test is whether they’re able to stick to the plan or not, but yes it’s going to get very messy for the pair of them."
