Al (Ian Midlane) finds himself the victim of a trick in Doctors, after he voices his opinion on tarot readings.
It all happens next week, after Karen (Jan Pearson) finds herself helping a woman named Sian (Heather Cranley), who is suffering from severe anxiety.
Karen’s visit comes after The Mill show concerns for Sian, who they haven’t been able to contact, despite her accepting deliveries of anxiety medication.
Karen, keen to communicate with Sian in any way she can, realises she can only do so if she agrees to have her tarot cards read.
It soon emerges Sian is terrified of her ex-partner, Vincent (Matthew Flynn), who was controlling and abusive.
But is Vincent everything he appears to be?
The mere suggestion of tarot readings, of course, inspires arch-sceptic Al to launch into one of his predictable rants about how such ideas are superstitious nonsense.
This leads Valerie (Sarah Moyle), Jimmi (Adrian Lewis Morgan) and Sid (Ashley Rice) to play a trick on him.
Meanwhile, complications arise after Ruhma (Bharti Patel) introduces enthusiastic trainee midwife, Megan Chalmers (Faye Campbell) to new mum, Heather (Susan Ateh) and overdue Kerry (Tiana Mai Jackson).
Kerry, it turns out, used to bully Megan at school.
Doctors airs these scenes w/c Monday May 2 on BBC One.
