David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly landed a huge £16million deal with Netflix to go ahead with a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ documentary.
In August, rumours were doing the rounds that the Beckhams were planning on sharing their lives onscreen, and now it seems like their ideas are being turned into their very own show.
The documentary is set to focus on David and will show off a ‘completely different side’ to the former footballer, as it follows not only his sporting career, but his home life, his relationship with Spice Girl Victoria and his life as a dad too.
Sources told The Sun: ‘This is a real coup for Netflix — and will show a completely different side to David, one the public very rarely get to see.’
They explained that the documentary will be produced from family archives and old camcorder footage from past birthdays, Christmases at home and special occasions, including ‘hilarious insights into David and Victoria’s early dates’.
‘Needless to say, David is bound to come off brilliantly while viewers will get to see Victoria’s quick wit,’ insiders added.
‘A camera crew will also document David’s life now, following him around the globe as he fulfils various business ventures.’
Not only will viewers see David at home and his busy working life now, but the show is also set to feature interviews and commentary from all the family.
Victoria, of course, is said to feature ‘prominently’, while the couple’s four children, sons Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 15 and daughter Harper, nine, will also make an appearance.
It’s not the first time the Beckhams have shared their life on screen, as David and Victoria previously starred in The Real Beckhams, which aired on ITV in 2003.
It focused on the couple’s move to Spain with their family after David was signed to football club Real Madrid.
Fast forward nearly two decades and while David has now retired from the game, he’s still pursuing his footballing passions as he’s launched his own club Inter Miami CF over in the US.
Metro.co.uk has reached out to a spokesperson for Netflix. A rep for the Beckhams declined to comment.
