Coronation Street‘s Tracy Barlow will finally come clean over her car sabotage next week.
Tracy (Kate Ford) confesses everything to Abi Franklin after seeing how badly she’s been affected by accusations that she deliberately damaged Michelle Connor’s car.
Early next week, Abi remains on a worrying downward spiral as she struggles to get her life back on track after the scandal she’s faced.
When Abi drinks too much and has to be rushed to hospital after collapsing, her son Seb tells Tracy that Abi’s life has been out of control ever since the car drama.
Feeling terrible, Tracy later visits Abi in hospital and admits that she was the one who damaged Michelle’s vehicle while on the warpath on her wedding day.
Tracy also comes clean over how she stole the laptop containing CCTV evidence – another crime that Abi got the blame for.
Sally Carman, who plays Abi, revealed: “Abi has thrown all her eggs in one basket with Tracy. She expects Tracy to treat her like she treats Tracy, and that is with full loyalty. That’s the thing with Abi, if you get her loyalty then that is it, forever.
“She thought she got that with Tracy. Well actually, she did get that with Tracy, but because Tracy is also very flawed, she panicked and made a bad decision and that just happens to be at Abi’s expense.”
Discussing the confession scene, Sally continued: “An actor reacts to the emotional trigger points in a script, so when I read that script, it was like someone had chucked a bucket of cold water on me.
“When we did the scene, I remember Kate saying the lines as Tracy and I couldn’t speak for a few seconds, and it’s because Abi cannot register what she is saying. It’s the last thing Abi thought of Tracy, she cannot believe it. Abi reacts angrily, but actually she is so hurt and distraught.
“It was actually a great scene to film because all the emotions are there and as upsetting as it is, it’s great because it is something to get your teeth into.
“Kate and I are absolutely gutted because we get on so well. I love Kate to absolute bits and we have really enjoyed all the funny stuff we have had to do. We clicked instantly and we are really good friends now, so it is really gutting for us. We keep saying we hope the writers will make Abi and Tracy friends again because I have all the time in the world for Kate.”
Tracy’s confession leads to Seb trashing the flower shop to make her suffer for everything she’s done.
Sadly, this also backfires when the police are called and Abi decides to take the blame to protect her son, earning herself a 16-week prison sentence.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, November 14 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
