One of the biggest perks of watching awards season for fans is seeing their favorite celebs do some of the most embarrassing things on stage.…
Coronation Street favourite Alex Warner (played by Liam Bairstow) has concerned fans after posting a statement on social media.
Cathy Matthews’ (Melanie Hill) nephew sparked fears that he could be the next Weatherfield resident to exit when he took to Twitter earlier today.
He said: “This all off my friends and all off my beautiful fans out here this it for me now for TV time.
“I have done all off my episodes and I am now doing stage work. Now and then I will be back to make some more professional TV work [sic].”
Fans of the ITV soap star replied to his tweet praising the actor and wishing him luck for the future.
One said: “Gutted to see you go, Liam. What an absolute star you are, extremely inspiring. I wish you all the best for your future plans, there’s no doubt you’re going to absolutely smash it.”
“Oh no…I will be so sad to see my favourite person leave the cobbles. Will miss u so much, Liam,” tweeted another.
A third wrote: “You have been great on @itvcorrie so hope we see you again. Enjoy your new ventures Liam X.”
“Good luck in your future accomplishments on and off our screens look forward to seeing your projects as you do them,” remarked a fourth.
Another exclaimed: “You will really be missed in the cafe on the cobbles and in our hearts until you come back to us xx you will excel in all you do Liam xx.”
However fans don’t need to worry as Digital Spy has confirmed that the star won’t be leaving the Street any time soon.
Liam has completed filming one run of episodes but has already been booked in to film more scenes at the end of May.
Alongside Coronation Street, Liam works with Mind The Gap, a theatre company which trains and works with actors who have learning disabilities.
Recently, the actor starred in a production that was put on by the theatre company called Zara.
His Corrie co-star Charlie de Melo who plays Imran Habeeb was in the audience during one of the performances and took to Instagram to share his support for the star.
He said: “Special kudos to my good friend #LiamBarstow, it was such a delight seeing you up on stage, you were fantastic and I’m very proud of you. buddy.”
Tristan Gemmill, who plays Robert Preston, and Faye Brookes, who plays Kaye Connor, have both announced that they are leaving the soap and Kym Marsh has also revealed that she will be taking a break, so it’s no wonder fans thought the worse with Alex.
There are also rumours that suggest that Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) will be leaving but this has yet to be confirmed.
However they will be new faces on the soap soon as Doctors star Lorna Laidlaw will be joining as part of the new Bailey family in upcoming episodes.
Coronation Street continues Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
