The countdown to Christmas officially begins for many when they spot the first festive advert of the year on TV. Each year, John Lewis, M&S and Sainsbury’s as well as many other retailers all try their best to create a heartwarming advert that captures what this year’s Christmas will feel like. There will be plenty of tear-jerking moments but which brand will have the honour of being 2022’s best festive ad? Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Christmas ads.
Disney
Disney has launched the final instalment of their From Our Family To Yours Christmas ad trilogy in support of Make-A-Wish.
Their 2022 Christmas ad titled The Gift followed the arrival of a new baby into the beloved family viewers were introduced to in 2020.
Two years ago, Disney introduced Nicole and her grandmother Lola as they celebrated festive traditions being passed down through the generations.
In 2021, the sequel followed a grown-up Nicole and her two children Max and Ella welcoming stepdad Mike into their home.
The final instalment is experienced through Ella as she adjusted to no longer being the youngest sibling when the family welcomed a new baby.
Jessica Darrow, star of Oscar-winning film Encanto performed the soundtrack A Little More penned exclusively for the ad.
Sarah Fox, VP Marketing & Comms, Disney Consumer Products, EMEA, said: “For the last three years millions have watched our characters in our ‘From Our Family To Yours’ animated series, as they spend time together building connections and making memories.
“We set out to create a family unit that would resonate with audiences world-wide. We are truly grateful for the support we have received for this festive campaign and hope that families and fans enjoy this fitting, heart-warming final instalment of the trilogy.”
John Lewis
John Lewis’ festive offering is one of the most hotly anticipated Christmas ads every year,
Last year it was released earlier than ever, hitting TV screens on November 4.
In previous years, the ad has been launched in the second week of the same month.
It’s not yet known exactly when the ad will be released and who will be behind the infamous soundtrack of the ad.

TK Maxx
TK Maxx launched their Christmas campaign earlier than ever before this year.
Nail Christmas for Less featured Sam who has aced her season gifting and received a flurry of high fives from all those she gifted presents to.
The retailer aimed to show that you can find affordable and fabulous gifts for everyone all under one roof.
Deborah Dolce, Group Director at TK Maxx comments: “With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we know this is a tough year and, for many people, Christmas is such an important time to come together with loved ones.
“Sharing presents is an integral part of the festivities – we all love to treat our friends and family.
“So, we just wanted to let people know you can still do a brilliant job by shopping at TK Maxx; there’s no need to compromise on brands and quality because our gifts are available for up to 60% less than the recommended retail price.
“And as our upbeat advert highlights, when you find the right gift, at the right price, the feeling is undeniably infectious.”
