Patty Jenkins has confirmed that Chris Pine will be in Wonder Woman 2.
Alongside a preview image of Pine in character as Steve Trevor, Patty tweeted: “Welcome to WONDER WOMAN 1984, Steve Trevor! #WW84.”
(And yes, she also confirmed that the title is Wonder Woman 1984, as did Gal Gadot.)
It was previously reported that production details hinted at the return of Pine’s American soldier, which confused everyone because, well, he’s dead.
And even if he wasn’t, he’d be pushing 100 years old, since Steve meets Diana in 1918, and Wonder Woman 2 is set in the 1980s.
It’s possible they might go the way of the Wonder Woman TV show, though and have Pine play Steve Trevor Jr, the son of Steve Trevor.

But considering Wonder Woman mourned him in Justice League, and didn’t mention seeing him, or any of his offspring, at all, does this mean he’s going to be seen in flashbacks only?
Well, given the picture shared by Jenkins looks very much like ’80s Steve, it doesn’t seem likely. So maybe he’s come back to life? Or time-travelled somehow? Or maybe we’re overthinking the whole thing and should just wait and see?
The superhero epic will pit Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) against classic comic book villain Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), with Game of Thrones‘ Pedro Pascal also joining the cast in a mysterious role.
