BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the 2023 cast of The Apprentice – because she reckoned they looked more like Love Island stars.

Sally and co-host Jon took a look at Lord Sugar's latest batch of candidates on Wednesday's (January 4) Breakfast ahead of the new series kicking off on Thursday.

But it's clear they thought this sexy cast wouldn't look out of place if they were roaming around the Love Island villa in their swimwear.

Jon held up a cast photo of the 2023 candidates, prompting a shocked Sally to ask: "Are we sure this is The Apprentice?"

He agreed: "I know, they're a very glamorous lot, aren't they? You were saying it's more like Love Island."

Sally said: "Are we sure it's not Love Island, maybe? No, it's The Apprentice."

The pair couldn't help giggling when they saw a snap of candidate Joe Phillips in his swimming trunks who describes himself as the 'James Bond of the business world'.

Sally laughed: "There are some brilliant quotes!" before defending Lord Sugar and the show's recruitment process.

She added "Lord Sugar himself says that he's actually very involved in the recruitment process, so it's not about what they look like, it's about their business brains."

    Jon coyly replied: "Of course."
