Bachelor fans accuse Matt James of major photoshop fail on cover of his new book

BACHELOR Matt James is in hot water with fans after sharing the cover of his new book, First Impressions, featuring a pretty blatant Photoshop fail on the reality star's hand.

The cover started making its rounds on social media with fans flooding the comments with jokes.

As fans pointed out, the issue is on Matt's hand. His left thumb appears to be Photoshopped bending in an unnatural way.

His hand — and thumb — are situated front and center on the cover, right next to the subtitle of the book.

One commenter wrote: "I don't understand. How did this make cover??"

Another joked: "I think thumbthing is wrong with this pic."

A third commenter wrote: "The book must be on thumb up."

Another fan wrote: "Trynna hitch hike his way outta this contract."

Matt, 29, returned to Instagram on Tuesday to shared the book cover and some thoughts on the book.

He shared video of the book with music playing in the background.

Matt captioned the post, which is currently the only one on his Instagram page: "MY story, unedited. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Off-Screen Conversations with a Bachelor on Race, Family and Forgiveness comes out May 2022."

He added that he "Can't wait to share more of my story with y'all, the whole truth."

The reality star did not address his seemingly photoshopped thumb.

Matt deleted the posts on his social media accounts after landing at the center of a controversy involving girlfriend Rachael Kirkconnell.

The pair met during Season 25 of The Bachelor, but split in March after photos surfaced showing Rachael at a racist gathering.

Matt called the relationship off to take "the time to address the troubling information that has come to light since we wrapped filming."

He chose Rachael over Michelle Young.

Matt and Rachael have had their ups and downs.

in February, the pair split after photos of Rachael at an Old South Antebellum party in college surfaced online.

She faced major backlash for attending the party, which was meant to celebrate the confederate nation amid slavery.

Rachael's cousin, Anastasia, told The Sun at the time that Rachael is "not racist," but noted that the photos were "hard to defend."

Matt confirmed that he and Rachael were taking a break during the After the Final Rose ceremony.

He said of the drama: "If you don't understand that something like that is problematic in 2018, there's a lot of me that you won't understand. It's as simple as that."

Rachael issued an apology over the photos via Instagram, writing: "If you are in my comments or anywhere defending me or telling people that I did nothing wrong or that there is nothing to be hurt or offended about, please stop.

"That's not our place to tell people what they can and can't be offended about. That's wrong and that's part of the problem so stop saying I did nothing wrong, that's not true.

"If you really want to support me then encourage me to do better."

The scandal wasn't the only hardship Matt and Rachael faced.

Their relationship was also plagued by cheating rumors.

Eventually, they got back together.

They were photographed side-by-side during the 2021 ESPY Awards in New York City over the summer.

The occasion marked their first red carpet together. Days later they hit their second, attending the 2021 Sports Humanitarian Awards together.
