Alex Jones shares rare snap with husband amid The One Show return after maternity leave

Alex Jones shared a rare snap with her husband Charlie Thomson on Wednesday after she returned to The One Show earlier this week following her maternity leave.

Taking to Instagram, Alex, 44, posted a radiant selfie with Charlie as she admitted that they were making the most of "parental leave" after welcoming baby daughter Annie in August.

Alex, who also has sons Ted and Kit with husband Charlie, said that despite her returning to The One Show she was enjoying having mornings off with her family.

She penned: "Making the most of shared parental leave. I may be back in work but we still have the mornings."

Alex also shared a sweet video of her husband pushing their daughter in a pram and their two young sons enjoying the family walk.

It comes after the presenter returned to The One Show on Tuesday night following her maternity leave.

Talking about her return and New Year’s resolutions, Alex said: "Mine Jermaine [Jenas] is to be a little bit more relaxed, so today [is my] first official day back from maternity.

"My husband Charlie is on paternity and I need to learn to let go a bit of things at home. Let him do it his way. Tricky."

To which co-host Jermaine joked: "You don’t seem too happy with Charlie…" with Alex quipping: "No, no, no, it’s all good. A little bit anxious, but yeah it’s fine."

Alex has previously made several brief returns after welcoming her daughter and she took part in a special episode in September to reveal the RHS Garden of Hope at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Giving an update on life as a mother-of-three at the time, she said: "We've been great, the boys have taken to little Annie brilliantly. Annie is here with my mum and dad, I've literally, honestly, she has just gone back to mum.

"I had to feed her, I was like: 'She's not going to stop feeding, ah!' so she's out there."
