Woman’s £50 engagement ring trolled for being ‘childish’ with Disney theme

Every woman has her own idea of what her dream engagement ring should look like – but one woman has been slated online for hers.

In a TikTok video, Haley Kamke shared her dream ring with the message: "My wedding ring is everything I dreamed of and more."

The self-proclaimed "Disney fanatic" was proposed to with a $65 (£53) silver Minnie Mouse ring from Pandora that had a stack of silver paved bands with a large diamond in the centre. It was topped with a ring in the shape of the animated mouse ears.

While Kamke was over the moon with it, the comment section was full of haters who thought it was childish.

One wrote: "It looks like costume jewellery."

Another added: "Are you still 14?"

A third commented: "Aren't you afraid you'll outgrow something this specific?"

To which, Kamke replied: "Oh for sure, that's why I can take the Minnie ears off whenever I want."

Other users defended her as they said she should be able to wear whatever ring she wants because the only person who needs to like it is her.

One user said: "Nothing could have prepared me for this. But… if you love it, do you!"

Another added: "What in the Disney adult… as long as you love it!"

A third wrote: "Not for me but the fact he knew you well enough to get something you love is adorable. Good for you."

A fourth commented: "You don’t have to like it personally, but the fact her fiancé picked something that he knew she would love is the real gold standard. Congrats."

The news comes after a heartbroken man revealed that his wife is so ashamed of the three-carat engagement ring he bought her that she wears a rubber band on her finger instead.

TikTok user @tiktokarash shared the story with a short clip of his bride-to-be using her phone, writing: "My Persian wife is ashamed of her 'small' 3-carat diamond ring so she wears this rubber thing instead."

The video has since gone viral, racking up 15.8 million views, with some social media users trying to reassure the bloke that her reason may not be because she's ashamed and instead could be for "security reasons".
