Sir Elton John steps into Christmas as he decorates tree in rare video with sons

Sir Elton John has officially stepped into Christmas as he has decorated a huge tree at his gorgeous home in a rare video with his sons.

The Rocket Man hitmaker, 74, who recently revealed that he was due to have hip surgery after suffering a fall ahead of Yellow Brick Road tour, was seen getting into the festive spirit with his husband David Furnish, 59, and their two sons Elijah, eight, and 10 year old Zachary.

David shared a clip to his 244,000 Instagram followers of the family decorating the real Christmas tree with an assortment of traditional baubles.

Sir Elton would be seen in a red tracksuit with white trainers while his other-half David opted for a Christmas jumper layered over a shirt for the occasion.

The heartwarming footage shows the boys standing on chairs to reach the higher branches before each of the family members came close to the camera to show a decoration.

The family-of-four have placed a gold star on the top of the tree and have hung reindeer bunting over the sliding sash window and a hanging decoration with 'let it snow'.

David posted the clip and garnered over 11,000 likes, including David Beckham, captioned: "Stepping into Christmas."

It comes after Sir Elton revealed that his album, The Lockdown Sessions, reached the top spot in the UK charts in October as he penned: "THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS’ IS UK NUMBER 1!

"This album is all about the capacity for music to bring people together to form new friendships and connections and right now I couldn’t feel more connected to my amazing fans in the UK who made this happen.

"When I started collaborating with some of my favourite artists at the start of the pandemic, I couldn’t have dreamt in my wildest dreams it would lead to a number one album.

"I am so proud of what we have created and thrilled that it has connected with our fans to such a degree. It shows the spirit of collaboration and togetherness that can still happen in the most trying circumstances.

"Thank you to everyone who helped bring this album to life – I love you all."
