The actor who played the husband in what some see as a “sexist” Peloton ad is afraid the backlash he’s getting from keyboard warriors will…
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been constant front-page news for controversy after controversy. At first, royal fans thought the constant criticism was just growing pains. The public had to get used to the new duchess and then she’d be accepted.
However, now more than a year into their marriage, the scandals still haven’t calmed down. Palace insiders are starting to worry that the criticism may not be an unfair public, but a duke and duchess who don’t understand royal expectations.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make one mistake after another
The latest controversy for the Sussexes, in a long line of controversies, was over their hypocritical use of private jets. The outrage started because Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made a point to inform the public about how environmentally conscious they are.
First, Markle acted as the guest editor for the September issue of Vogue, where she made several veiled political statements that upset the public. As one of her “15 Forces for Change,” Markle chose controversial climate change activist Greta Thunberg. Then, for the same issue, Prince Harry conducted an interview with famous primatologist Jane Goodall, where he stated that he and his wife would only have two children “maximum” for the sake of the environment.
After all these statements, which many of the public took as lectures, it came out that Prince Harry and Markle had taken four private jet flights over the span of a week. Not the type of behavior you’d expect from an environmental activist. The public saw this behavior as hypocritical and unbecoming from members of the royal family.
And this is far from the Sussex’s only controversy this year. They also upset the public when an entitled list of rules for their neighbors around Frogmore Cottage was released to the public. Among the rules: “Don’t talk to the Duke or Duchess unless you’re spoken to first.”
News outlets were outraged after the birth of Archie when Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan broke palace tradition and made both the birth and the baptism secret from the public. Their behavior around the birth was compared to the way an American celebrity hides from the tabloids instead of what would be expected from a royal, whose lifestyle is funded by the British taxpayer.

In a break from tradition, Prince Harry acknowledged the criticism of his jet use during his speech for the launch of Travalyst, an organization for the promotion of sustainable travel. But instead of a humble apology, Prince Harry made what some consider to be an arrogant excuse for unacceptable behavior.
“No one is perfect,” he said. “We could all do better… The question is what we do to balance it out.”
The public wasn’t impressed with Prince Harry’s apology. In their report on the issue, The Sun called his speech “embarrassing.”
They wrote: “The Sun misses the fun bloke he once was. We still admire his army service. But Britain is sick of his “woke” sermons. More mature Royals know better than to lecture those who keep them in clover. They must take Harry in hand. He’s doing the family untold damage.”
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle becoming a liability for the monarchy?

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Responses, like those from The Sun, are becoming more common as Prince Harry and Markle upset more and more British citizens. According to a source for Best Life, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were originally seen as a modernizing force for the monarchy, but now, palace insiders fear that the couple has become “more of a liability than an asset.”
As they continue to make more mistakes around their behavior, choosing to act as celebrities rather than royals, the public continues to become more upset by them. Queen Elizabeth has not publicly responded to their behavior, but she has to be aware of the troubles it’s causing the monarchy.
If things don’t change soon, British citizens could start turning away from Prince Harry and Markle. And that would be dangerous for the position of the royal family, who are important only because British citizens chose to make them important. The royal family will have to handle the issue of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex soon before it’s too late for the monarchy.
