Robert De Niro reportedly suffered a leg injury while on location to film his new movie “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

The 77-year-old actor was in Oklahoma to shoot the Western crime drama when the incident occurred, though it did not happen on set, TMZ reported Thursday.

While the details of De Niro’s injury have yet to be revealed, he boarded a late-night flight home to New York City and plans to see a doctor Friday, according to the site.

Production on the Martin Scorsese-directed movie will reportedly proceed as scheduled, as De Niro already shot his scenes. It is unclear whether he’ll need to return to set to resume filming after he recovers from the injury.

De Niro’s rep did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

The movie, based on David Grann’s 2017 nonfiction book, “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI,” also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons and Lily Gladstone.

The first photos from the film were released earlier this week, showing DiCaprio, 46, looking haggard while dressed in character on set. He plays Ernest Burkhart, a white man who falls in love with Gladstone’s character, Mollie, an Osage woman, during the early 20th century.

The story follows the Osage Nation murders, in which Native Americans in 1920s Oklahoma were massacred after oil was discovered on their land.

Scorsese, 78, started shooting “Flower Moon” on April 19 after being delayed over a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are thrilled to finally start production on ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in Oklahoma,” the “Irishman” director, who is also co-producing the upcoming project, said in a statement at the time. “To be able to tell this story on the land where these events took place is incredibly important and critical to allowing us to portray an accurate depiction of the time and people.”

The film reportedly has a budget of $200 million.
