My Name Is Earl actor Ethan Suplee stuns fans by beating obesity and showing off ripped physique

My Name Is Earl actor Ethan Suplee, who played the dim-witted Randy Hickey on the show, has left fans in shock after showcasing his impressive weight loss.

The 43 year old, who starred in the hit NBC series between 2005 and 2009, has been sharing his fitness journey on Instagram for the last couple of years.

But fans have only just realised who he is and they've been left completely bowled over by his incredible body transformation.

Flooding the comment section of his Instagram photos, one person wrote: "Wait dis da dude dat played in the tv show “My name is Earl”?" [sic]

A second commented: "Less Randy Hickey more Randy Savage killing it!"

And another chimed: "Doesn't even look like the same guy!"

"Bro if this man can get into shape after literally making a career out of being a fat guy for 2 decades anyone can get into shape at anytime, [sic]" a fourth added.

Ethan, who has grown a beard since leaving the show, found fame in the 1990s and early 2000s for being the bulky guy who appeared on Boy Meets World and later My Name Is Earl.

He went on to appear in several hit movies and TV shows, including American History X, The Wolf of Wall Street and, most recently, The Ranch.

While fans have only just noticed the sheer amount of weight he's dropped, Ethan actually started his fitness journey back in 2010, just one year after his role as Randy came to an end.

Speaking about his weight loss, Ethan explained that the movie industry wasn't sure what to do with him.

"Initially, the casting directors didn't want me to come in because I'd lost a bunch of weight.

"Apparently they had proposed me a bunch of times, but the casting directors were like, 'No, he's too thin now’," he told Entertainment Weekly in 2017.

He continued: "After My Name Is Earl, I started obsessively riding bicycles. I actually did get properly thin at one point – I was nine per cent body fat. But I was also riding a bicycle six to eight hours a day, six days.

"After two years of that, my wife said, 'Hey, idiot, you can’t retire and ride bicycles. You have to go get a job.'"

Once he realised she was right, he started eating more and bulking up at the gym, which lead to his incredible transformation.
