How Kate’s go-to jewellery designer became a royal favourite

Forget the crown jewels! How Kate’s go-to jewellery designer Annoushka became a favourite with royals and A-listers worldwide after she wore its £320 pearl earrings on repeat

  • Duchess, 36, has worn Annoushka’s £320 pearl earrings on countless occasions
  • Her diamond eternity ring is also from the London-based brand
  • Also a favourite with royals Queen Rania of Jordan and Lady Amelia Windsor
  • Kate’s support has helped turn brand into a booming £10M business

The Duchess of Cambridge is notorious for provoking shopping frenzies with her chic ensembles, and it seems that even the A-list and fellow royals take note of her trendsetting ways.

Kate, 36, has long being championing British jewellery brand Annoushka whose pearl earrings are a such a firm favourite she wore them to four official engagements this year alone.

The brand was founded by Annoushka Ducas in 2009, the co-founder of Links Of London and has won legions of celebrity fans – with Kate leading the way.

As well as her favourite £320 18ct Yellow Gold & Freshwater Pearl Baroque Earring Drops, she also wears her Annoushka Eclipse Diamond Eternity Ring on a daily basis.

Other royal fans of the brand include Lady Amelia Windsor, Pippa Middleton and Queen Rania of Jordan – who have all been spotted in the brand.

And celebrity fans including Hellen Mirren, Kate Hudson and X have helped its fortunes to thrive to a booming business with £10M turnover.

‘My design philosophy is very personal,’ Annoushka Ducas explained. ‘I create what I like to wear. It must be comfortable, versatile, unfussy, yet also tell a story.

‘I love colour and my jewellery reflects this.’

It’s certainly not a budget choice with prices starting at £300 for a pair of earrings, but it’s accessible enough for some people to afford a piece as a gift for a special occasion.

And the figures show that people are prepared to pay that little bit extra for a touch for royal-approved style.

The Duchess has attracted huge numbers of buyers to designer brand Jenny Packham, crashing the designer’s website when she wore a blue spotted dress after Prince George’s birth.

Within hours of her appearance on the steps of the Lindo Wing in 2013, similar dresses by Jenny Packham had sold out

This week, the Duchess completed a hat trick by wearing the designer to introduce her third child to the world, after also stepping out in Jenny Packham after Charlotte’s birth.
