The former Little Mix star reflected on her previous boyfriends and her most recent breakup during the candid chat.
The 30-year-old was dating actor Sean Sagar for nine months before the relationship ended in March.
Sharing her feelings about the Our Girl star, she told the Guardian: "With my ex, it was the first time I’d been with someone where I wasn’t in control. I fell madly in love with him."
Jesy added: "Let’s just say it was nothing like how I’d been treated before. I thought that’s what I wanted.

"I wanted to be kept on my toes and have that chase and hand on my heart. I don’t ever want that again.”
It’s unknown exactly what prompted the breakup, however, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Jesy had unfollowed the actor and deleted all his photos from her social media accounts.
Before meeting Sean, Jesy was in a relationship with former Love Island star Chris Hughes for 16 months.
The couple called it quits while isolating in separate homes because of the first coronavirus lockdown.
A source told The Sun Online: "Jesy and Chris split up a couple of weeks ago. It was all very amicable, and they're still really good friends.”
Jesy reportedly broke up with Chris over the phone, which has he since said gave him his first experience of ‘heartbreak’.
In 2018, the singer dated fellow musician Harry James, confirming the romance on the red carpet at the Brit Awards before splitting 16 months later.
A source at the time told The Sun: “Jesy and Harry enjoyed their time together but have decided to call it a day.
“There are no hard feelings between them and they remain good friends – just at the moment it makes sense for them to separate."
Prior to this, Jesy was previously engaged to popstar Jake Roche, the son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie.
Jake got down on one knee on stage at an Ed Sheeran concern during the song Tenerife Sea.
However, less than a year later, the couple called off their engagement after two years together.
According to reports, they split because Jesy wanted to start a family, but Jake felt 'too young to be a father. A source said at the time: “Jake feels that, at 24, he's just too young to be a father while Jesy completely disagrees”.
Before that, she dated Diversity star Jordan Banjo for two years until they parted ways due to their busy schedules getting in the way of their romance.
Speaking about her exes in the new interview, Jesy explained: "All but one treated me so lovely, like a princess. But a year down the line, I get a bit bored, and they become my friend.
"I’m always more attracted to someone who keeps me on my toes, which sounds mental, but that’s what excites me."
Asked if she could ever date a woman, Jesy said: "No, I love men too much.’ I just love the way men smell, I love muscles, and women don’t have that, do they?"
