Inside Emmerdale star Emma Atkins’ colourful and cosy family home in Yorkshire

Emmerdale star Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle, returns to a cosy and colourful family home after a long day’s filming in the dales.

The actress is thankfully nothing like her on-screen character, and lives a family-centric life with her son Tom, five, and partner Albert… and of course their adorable black fluffy dog.

In fact one of Emma’s favourite hobbies is to photograph nature, which is much at contrast with Charity’s activities.

Speaking to OK! Magazine after returning from maternity leave, Emma said: “I did wonder if Charity might have changed after being in jail, but then in my first episode she was robbing a Ferrari – so there was no way!

"I love playing her because she’s such a badass.”

But although Emma's home might not contain any stolen goods, it does look like a place where you’d like to spend some time.

Let’s take a look inside…

The family's living room has bay windows with white shutters that peer out onto the luscious green garden.

The walls are painted a light beige colour, there are light wooden floors and a huge and very comfy-looking sofa which is covered in different blankets and throw pillows.

This looks like such cosy space to wile away an afternoon, reading a book with a sweet dog beside you!

From this angle we can see that the room has wallpaper on part of the wall, which is patterned to look like it's ridged.

There is also a gorgeous lamp which is adorned with large red flowers.

If you can try to look past the dog wearing denim dungarees you'll see that Albert's room is very modern and playful.

The little boy's bed is futuristic in shape with a mismatch of prints making up the bedding.

In the room is also a white fluffy rug which features neon shapes.

Although the house might be quite eclectic, it is also meticulously organised, as this insight into the cupboard suggest.

With Stacey Solomon levels of storage success everything on the shelves is separately labelled, and decanted into jars.
