Injuries and suspensions update ahead of Dream Team Game Week 5

DREAM TEAM brings all you all the latest injury and suspensions news ahead of Game Week 5 in the form of one convenient whistle-stop tour.

There are rumours that Jack Harrison (£3.2m) will miss Leeds’ trip to St James’ Park this evening after registering a positive Covid-19 test.

Patrick Bamford (£3.9m) is expected to lead the line for the visitors despite complaining of a ‘pinging hamstring’ last weekend but Marcelo Bielsa is short of options at centre-back after Pascal Struijk’s (£1.5m) red card was upheld upon appeal.

The hosts will continue without Callum Wilson (£3.6m), Jonjo Shelvey (£1.9m) and Paul Dummett (£1.5m).

Mikel Arteta will make a late decision on Thomas Partey (£1.9m) but will definitely be without Rob Holding (£2.4m), Mohamed Elneny (£1.5m) and the suspended Granit Xhaka (£1.8m).

Rafa Benitez told reporters he expects to be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.7m) for another ‘two or three weeks’ – Everton’s No9 still appears in 8.3% of teams.

As for Aston Villa, it’s likely Emi Martinez (£2.7m) and Emi Buendia (£3.1m) will return having completed their quarantine.

Pep Guardiola confirmed centre-backs John Stones (£4.0m) and Aymeric Laporte (£4.2m) would both both be absent against Southampton on Saturday with muscle injuries – the latter is Dream Team’s eighth-best defender at the time of writing.

Pascal Gross (£2.8m) and Adam Webster (£2.2m) won’t play against Leicester on Sunday but Dan Burn (£2.5m) is back in contention to start for Brighton.

N’Golo Kante (£2.7m) is ‘back in full shape and ready to play’ according to Thomas Tuchel ahead of Chelsea’s local derby against Spurs on Sunday.

Christian Pulisic (£3.8m) has returned to individual training in his quest to regain full fitness but won’t be included in the Blues’ squad this weekend.

Nuno Espirito Santo said it was ‘too early to say’ whether Steven Bergwijn (£1.7m) and Lucas Moura (£2.4m) would recover in time for Sunday’s main event after suffering discomfort against Rennes in the Europa Conference League.
