How Often Do Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Talk?

If reports are true, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are not two peas in a pod. Though the two women have a lot in common — they’re royals, fashionistas, and mothers to the most adorable children — some sources say that they aren’t exactly on the best terms. It might make you wonder whether these two talk at all and, if so, how often.

A closer look at Markle and Middleton’s relationship

While Markle and Middleton appear to look friendly in front of cameras, sources say they’ve had issues since the former Suits actress became engaged to Prince Harry.

Following the engagement, Prince William reportedly cautioned his brother that things between him and Markle were moving too fast, which led to their alleged falling out. Naturally, the duchesses reportedly got caught in the crosshairs of the feud, and they’ve since fought over everything from bridesmaid dresses to jealously issues.

Are they working on their relationship?

Even though there’s no solid evidence of a feud between the duchesses, it does seem like they’ve gotten even closer lately. For example, they got together in July on a number of occasions, including Wimbledon and a polo match between their husbands. They seemed “very close, very happy, very comfortable with each other,” said royal expert Katie Nicholl.

Body language expert Blanca Cobb also noted a warmness between Markle and Middleton at Wimbledon. “Meghan’s head is tilted a little bit to the right and Kate’s head is tilted a little bit to the left, and when you lean towards something, you lean towards something you like,” Cobb explained to Cosmopolitan. “It’s subconscious when this happens, so what that tells us is that there’s a level of comfort between them and even though they’re not talking, they’re still enjoying each other’s company.”

Another insider told HELLO! Magazine (via The Daily Mail) that the two have become even closer now that Markle is a mom. (In case you were living under a rock, Markle gave birth to a son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, back in May. Meanwhile, Middleton is a pro at the parenting game, having three little ones of her own: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.)

“Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie’s birth,” the insider explained. “Despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship. Their relationship has certainly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghan’s wedding.”

So, how often do they talk?

This might come as a shock, but one source said that Markle and Middleton communicate “regularly.”

“They talk and text regularly,” a source told HELLO! Magazine.

“They have more in common, and Kate has wanted to make sure Meghan has felt welcome into the family,” the insider continued.

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue.
