Carolyn Hallam was delighted to find a Christmas jumper for 50p at a car boot sale during the summer.
The 53-year-old, from Nottingham, wanted one to wear for her job as a teaching assistant at a school during the festive season.
But at the time, she didn’t take a proper look at the design and had no idea it actually features images of reindeers having sex.
Her daughter, Abigail Hallam, 29, also from Nottingham, shared photos of the find on social media and it has left people in stitches, with the post racking up nearly 2,000 likes so far.
‘We love to find bargains at the car boot sales and so mum was extremely pleased to have found a Christmas jumper for 50p in the summer last year,’ Abigail said.
‘She picked it up and had a quick look and realised it was a Christmas jumper so she thought it would be okay to wear for work. She put it in her plastic bag and didn’t think anything of it till she got home.
‘We always go through what we have bought from the car boot and have a proper look once we get home. Mum realised after holding it up to look at the pattern properly.
‘She then tried it on and proudly asked me “Do you like my Christmas cardigan?”
‘I didn’t notice at first and said “ooh yes, it’s lovely” then she asked what I thought of the pattern and I burst out laughing.’
Thankfully, Carolyn saw the funny side of the situation and was thankful she hadn’t spent too much on the jumper.
Abigail added: ‘When mum realised it was actually a rude Christmas jumper, she laughed out loud and thought it was hilarious.
‘She was relieved that she saw what was on it before wearing it to work in a primary school. After we realised it was rude she was even more pleased with her bargain.’
Carolyn has since got a jumper that is more appropriate for work, but the naughty reindeer jumper is still her favourite and she wears it at any suitable opportunities.
And she’s not the only one who likes it, with many people online who commented on the post saying they love the funny pattern.
‘Took me a minute,’ commented one person, who was struggling to spot the dirty reindeer scene.
‘Omg that’s hilarious,’ added someone else. [sic]
‘That is priceless! Thanks for the laugh!’ wrote another person.
