My slutty phase was when I learned about myself sexually, intellectually, and spiritually. Without it, I wouldn’t be as sure of myself or as confident as I am today.
I tell people I’m a self-proclaimed hoe and I’m fine with that. It’s my way of letting them know I don’t give a shit about what they’re about to say. Just save it.
In my early twenties, after getting engaged at 19, I realized that it’s okay to date for fun. I had to unlearn this idea that I was dating to marry. That’s something I struggled with before but I think I’ve finally gotten it together. I don’t have to say, “I can’t be your girlfriend if I don’t see the rest of my life with you.” Like, ew, no. Why not? I can date you for this season and that’s okay. Whatever I’m meant to get out of this experience is what I’ll get.
